A frappucino is the drink you get when you need to be caffeinated, but really all you want to do is drink a milkshake. A regular coffee is too boring, an espresso concoction is too bitter, a frappucino is the perfect blend of something sweet and full to wake you up.
That was my thought process as I decided my coffee order this morning. In that moment, all I craved was a refreshing drink, sweetened and full of the holy bean that was meant to have me on my merry way for the rest of the day. Frappucinos are a trademarked line of blended iced beverages sold by Starbucks, and they come in a variety of different flavors and options for customizations.
I’m usually a big fan of matcha frappes, however today just didn’t seem like a green tea type of day. Boy, how I wish I didn’t let myself think that.
I had decided that today needed to be an extra caffeinated day, and because I was too cheap to willingly pay for add shots of espresso to my blender, I chose to order the coffee flavored frappucino. Why did I do myself dirty like that?
Keep in mind, I literally used to make dozens of frappucinos a day, back when I used to be a barista. I know the whole drill. What I don’t know is what was going through my mind when I wanted a sweet and refreshing blended drink, and ordered the complete opposite, a bitter and no additional flavoring cup of blended iced coffee.
Needless to say, I will not be ordering a plain coffee frappucino again any time soon, or ever,
