Vanilla Pike Roast with Sweet Cream

As my alarm went off for the 5th time this morning, and my roommates were sure to be annoyed by the amount of snoozes I had gone through, I looked out the window and saw rain.

Despite my usual insistence on my coffee being iced as opposed to having to blow it to a cool temperature, this morning, I made the bold decision to buy a hot beverage. The weather just called for it.

It was a grande Pike Roast sweetened with vanilla syrup and sweet cream type of morning. My brisk walk to class found me trying my hardest not to spill the burning hot coffee all over myself, while trying my best not to walk into another class meeting late.

I was relatively satisfied with my lifeline and substitution of breakfast, until the end of the first of my back to back morning classes. The small sip of coffee at 10a.m., only an hour after I first sat down with my freshly brewed drink, was what reminded me of why I prefer iced over hot beverages. I am what people consider a slow drinker. I like to sip while getting my tasks of the day done, so I really take my time in cherishing it.

By the time I was trying to finish the other half of my coffee during my second class, it was a lukewarm temperature that was not as enjoyable as I would have wished. But that’s just me being whiney, and extremely insistent on not drinking room temperature drinks.
